How SemTech IT Solutions Supports Florida Animal Shelters
Technology is evolving at an alarming rate, and as a result, new and improved computers and other hardware is released quite often. SemTech IT Solutions continously ensures our clients stay up-to-date with the latest technology, so naturally, we tend to have old computers and other hardware sitting around – many of which are in great working condition. That’s why we’ve decided to donate our equipment to animal shelters throughout the state. Our team has been dedicated to cleaning up all of the devices we have on hand and calling around to animal shelters to see what they’re in need of and how we can help. This will be an ongoing project to help these safe havens throughout our state run smoothly.
This Ongoing Project Has Two Main Benefits: Helping Animal Shelters Run Smoothly and Minimizing Our Impact on the Environment.
Animal shelters around the world greatly benefit from the power of technology – enabling employees to devote more time to the needs of the animals while spending less time on time-consuming, manual tasks that involve a lot of paperwork. Each and every computer we donate to an animal shelter throughout the state gives their team the ability to eliminate a bit more paper-based responsibilities, and thus, have more time available for taking care of the animal in their care.
While we’re helping local animal shelters run as smoothly as possible, we’re also minimizing our impact on the environment. Technology tends to include hazardous materials that aren’t safe to dispose of, which is one of our top priorities is keeping equipment out of the landfills whenever possible.
What Do We Do with the Old Data Stored on Computers and Other Hardware Prior to Donating Them?
We’ve been asked this question before in the past. Fortunately, we have professionally trained and certified technicians who know how to wipe hard drives according to federal regulations, including FISMA, HIPAA, GLBA, SOX, PIPEDA, and more. This means our clients never have to worry about losing and/or disclosing sensitive information when we upgrade their environments with the latest technology.
