Will the test disrupt our business operations?
No. The test is designed to run without impacting your daily operations. We scope the test with you beforehand, agree on what is in bounds, and schedule it to avoid any critical business activities. Most clients do not even notice the test is running.
How is this different from the vulnerability scan our IT provider already runs?
A vulnerability scan lists potential weaknesses. A Cyber Health Check actually exploits them. A scan tells you a door might be unlocked. A Cyber Health Check opens the door, walks in, and shows you what someone could take. That is the difference between a list and a demonstration.
Do we need to be a SemTech managed services client to get a Cyber Health Check?
No. The Cyber Health Check is a standalone service. You do not need to be on a managed IT plan. If you have your own IT team, we hand them the remediation plan and they execute it. If you are a managed services client, we execute the fixes for you. Either way, you get the test and the report.
How often should we run a Cyber Health Check?
At minimum, once a year. If you are in a regulated industry, have had significant network changes, or are renewing cybersecurity insurance, you should test more frequently. Many of our clients run a Mini Check quarterly and a Full Check annually. We will recommend a cadence based on your industry and risk profile.
What if you find serious vulnerabilities?
That is the point of the test. If we find critical issues, we flag them immediately, not in the report two weeks later. You get a same-day alert for anything urgent, followed by the full report with a prioritized fix plan. We can start remediation the same day if needed.
